A picture of a Papua New Guinea Manggi (young man) with a head dress and painted body. Face and body painting is very popular in Papua New Guinea. It is one of their social activities. The patterns and colours used do not necessarily have a fixed meaning, but they are often referred to as the names of animals and plants.
